Connected – Created for Relationships: New sermon series beginning THIS SUNDAY, October 8

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:50 AM for the new sermon series “Connected – Created for Relationships,” beginning Sunday, October 8, 2017 (Thanks a lot, Harvey!).

In Genesis 1 we read,

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth”” (Genesis 1:26-28, ESV).

Being created in God’s image means many different things.  One important part of  being created in God’s image is being created for relationships. God is the perfect model of relationship.  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have eternally existed in perfect relationship with each other. They are 3 distinct persons, but one God.  This holy trinity is a mystery, but it reveals to us that, since we were created in God’s image, we were created to be in relationships.

This 8-week series will take a look at several relationships that humans experience.  We will study:

  • Week 1: You and God
  • Week 2: You and Yourself
  • Week 3: You and Your Spouse
  • Week 4: You and Your Children
  • Week 5: You and Your Family
  • Week 6: You and Your Church
  • Week 7: You and Your Community
  • Week 8: You and Non-Christians

Our prayer is that you will join us as we delve into Scripture to grow in our relationships so that we can live righteously, we can be obedient to the Great Commission, and we can make the Name of the Lord great in our community, nation, and the world!
